Probe of Prince’s sudden death to ‘leave no stone unturned’

A post-mortem has been carried out and, although the final cause of death won’t be determined for a few weeks, it’s thought there had been no trauma or violence in the time leading up to the singer’s shocking death.

The collection is believed to include an entire album he recorded with jazz trumpet great Miles Davis, said Owen Husney, who was Prince’s first manager and teaches music business at the University of California, Los Angeles.

‘Hopefully, Prince executed a trust and indicated his intentions, both with respect to who his trustee would be and how he would want the estate to be disposed of, ‘ he said.

The sheriff said they hadn’t received previous calls for Prince at Paisley Park before Thursday – there had been previous calls made over the past year but never about Prince.

Prince was last seen about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night when he was dropped off at Paisley Park, according to Olson.

The singer’s death came two weeks after he cancelled concerts in Atlanta, saying he wasn’t feeling well.

However, they did confirm Prince’s body would be released to the family presently.

Prince hosted a dance party two days later at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota.

The late pop star Prince was known in life as an artist fiercely protective of his intellectual property, but how much others may profit from his legacy, including a large body of unreleased songs, hinges on how astute he was in arranging for control of his music after death.

Minnesota authorities are declining to discuss whether any prescription drugs were found in Prince’s home after his death, or to discuss a report that the musician suffered a drug overdose less than a week before he died.

Prince was slated to perform two surprise “pop-up” shows earlier this week at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis but cancelled last week because of health concerns, promoter Steve Litman said.

Still, she says Prince “really took care of himself”, including eating well.

She also spoke about one particularly low moment: “I pawned the auto Prince had given me and sold the kids’ TV for drugs”, she said. She said the man who answered told her Prince was sleeping and would let him know she called.

Whilst a spokesperson for the Examiners Office added in a statement: “As part of the complete exam, relevant information regarding [Prince’s] medical and family history will be gathered”.
