Apple is scheduled to launch the iPhone 6s in September this year and has already commenced its initial production run.

Force Touch, an existing Apple Watch and MacBook feature, is a pressure-sensitive technology that will enable future iPhones to distinguish between a light tap and deep press and complete different actions accordingly.

Taipei Times vaguely reported that Apple’s touch panel supplier TPK expects widespread adoption of pressure sensors, presumably for Force Touch, later this year. The ramping up in production doesn’t really come as a surprise.

Suppliers reportedly began shipping Force Touch modules in limited numbers in June, increasing shipments in July.

The production for Force Touch modules was apparently increased in July, likely to meet production demand.

Following the launch of Force Touch technology on the Apple Watch, it is also expected to make its way to the next generation iPhone as well. After Bloomberg said recently that both 2015 iPhones will get the new feature, a new report from Taiwan indicates that the components needed for this great new tech are already in mass production. It is also expected to sport a new A9 processor which should in theory be faster than its predecessor.

It’s being report today that Apple’s touch panel supply chain for the next iPhone 6S have stepped up shipments with volume expected to reach 36-40 million in the third quarter and 50 million in the fourth quarter.

The smartphones are also rumored to have a 12MP primary camera and will stick to the design sensibilities of the previous-gen versions.
