Promoting national unity, Clinton also seeks to build trust
But the outcome of this election could depend on whether Americans share Obama’s hope and optimism or believe the more gloomy vision that Trump presented in his speech at the Republican National Convention last week is more accurate.

Clinton repeated the convention’s theme of “stronger together”, declaring that her life-long goal has been to ensure that Americans can use their talent and ambition to help make the nation stronger.
“(It’s) a trap we as Americans have fallen into generations”, Lange said. How can their be pleasure in saying ‘you’re fired.’ He’s trying to tell us he cares about the middle-class.
In his speech to the Democratic convention, businessman and former NY mayor Michael Bloomberg said people needed to unite to defeat Trump, who he called a “dangerous demagogue”.
Obama has a history of electrifying Democratic convention speeches.
US President Barack Obama is the headline speaker at the DNC tonight, where is expected to vouch for Hillary Clinton’s judgement and leadership abilities.
President Barack Obama delivered a passionate endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a speech at the party’s convention Wednesday night.
“He’s offering empty promises”. “The choice is clear”.
The 44th president recalled campaigning against Clinton during the 2008 race for the Democratic presidential nomination, praising her for never giving up.
She also acknowledged that some people still do not know her well. “And to all of your supporters here and around the country, I want you to know I’ve heard you”, Clinton said.
With the general election in full swing, Clinton must find a way to fix that.
In contrast, Mrs Clinton argued that she would be “a president for Democrats, Republicans and independents”.
Lacking Obama’s sweeping rhetoric or the “I-feel-your-pain” sensitivity of her husband, Clinton leaned into her wonky image, saying, “I sweat the details of policy”.
Starting with a rally Friday at Temple University, Clinton, accompanied by running mate Sen. Bernie Sanders, many of whom remain bitterly disappointed in their candidate’s loss to Clinton in this year’s primary contests. “Your cause is our cause”.
Yet resentments lingered throughout the convention, with a handful of attendees heckling during her address others wearing neon shirts in protest. “Excluded from Hillary Clinton’s America are the suffering people living in our inner cities, or the victims of open borders and drug cartels, or the people who’ve lost their jobs because of the Clintons’ trade deals, or any hardworking person who doesn’t have enough money to get a seat at Hillary Clinton’s table”.
“We’re going to carry Hillary to victory this fall, because that’s what the moment demands”, the president said in his speech, to much applause. “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”, the 68-year-old former secretary of state told fellow Americans while accepting the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
But Lange seemed less concerned about the future of the Democrats.
Not one of those examples mentions economic policy. “But after it was all over, I asked Hillary to join my team”. I worked for Ronald Reagan. “Well dammit it’s about time we had something good to vote for”.
With Clinton, “our global relations will not be reduced to a business transaction”, Allen said. “The America I know is decent and generous”.
