Murder suspect Jody Herring developed a “hit list” and moved methodically through a farmhouse where she fatally shot three relatives before driving to Barre to kill a state social worker, new court papers show.

Williams tells The Associated Press he has regularly visited the parking lot where he confronted the woman to work through his emotions.

Mr. Premont is a former boyfriend of Herring, the woman arrested on a first-degree-murder charge in the killing of Lara Sobel, 48, of East Montpelier, an employee of the Vermont Department for Children and Families.

Rhonda Herrings daughter, Tiffany Herring, said on August. 7 she was awoken by an incoming call from Jody Herring at the Berlin farmhouse.

Herring made multiple phone calls to one of her potential victims, Dwayne Herring, who described his relative as a “hysterical” and “crazed killer”.

Police said bystanders took a hunting rifle away from Jody Herring and subdued her after Sobel was shot. Falzaranos body was covered with a white sheet, and police said her body was covered after her murder. He told investigators that her hit list included the names of the three slain relatives, her mother, her mother’s boyfriend and possibly her brother.

Det. Sgt. Todd Baxter of the State Police concluded in the affidavit, “The scenes suggest Rhonda Herring, Regina Herring, and Julie Falzarano were murdered in a deliberate and purposeful succession.”.

Jody Herring is expected to be charged on three counts of aggravated murder, each carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The Attorney General’s Office, which is leading the prosecution, provided him a copy of the charging documents at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sleigh added.

When police interviewed Jody Herrings daughter, Desiree Herring, according to the affidavit, she said her mother had threatened to kill her and Regina Herring and Rhonda Herring in the past. According to the document, Herring responded, “What about the other (expletive) three?” Herring asked the same question again, before going on to say, “The way I look at it, they (expletive) deserved it too.”.

The authorities say Herring was angry at losing custody of her 9-year-old daughter in July, a case in which Sobel had been involved. According to State Police, it belonged to Henry Premont, Jodys Herrings most recent boyfriend. The authorities had named Herring as the only suspect in the other three killings and said consistently that more charges were possible. The youthful ladies have been cousins of Jody Herring.

He also allegedly told police Jody Herring had a “hit list” that he saw months ago.

The investigation also determined Herring earlier this year attempted to purchase a gun from two firearms dealers, who denied Herring after conducting a mandatory background check.

The rifle was found in Herring’s vehicle and likely used to slaughter her family, according to court documents.

Police interviews with Premont also shed more light on why Herring might have targeted Sobel. Courtroom papers state that Premont advised police Herring talked about Sobel’s identify in dialog “on a number of events”. Baker told Herring she was being held without bail for the homicide of Lara Sobel in Barre on August. 7, but that Baker was there to discuss an unrelated matter. The record contained, in line with Premont, the names of Regina Herring and Rhonda Herring; Jody’s mom, Jenella; Janella’s husband, Ken; and probably Dwayne Herring, Jody’s brother. Mr. Premont pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Regulation-enforcement authorities say Premont was appearing as if he needed police to shoot him and demanded to see Herring. He was taken into custody unharmed.
