At a hearing in City Hall on Wednesday, activists compared the money to bonuses for police. “Our efforts to improve community and police relations must continue”.

In a fiery address to reporters, she slammed the way police handled their investigation and said the criminal justice system needs “real, substantive reforms” to handle a case such as Gray’s.
But the news earlier this month took an bad turn when a lone sniper opened fire in Dallas at the end of a Black Lives Matter protest, killing five police officers and wounding others. “She should be held accountable”. She should prosecute herself.
Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s year of “dogged fighting”, as the Baltimore Sun puts it, has ended with a score of 0 of 6.
The mayor says as elected officials, they have a duty to uphold the law and the process.
Legal experts had speculated that the prosecution would be a tough one for Mosby, and her decision to bring charges against all six officers involved in Gray’s arrest and transport last April was seen as a bold move.
Prosecutors, the officers and their attorneys were all barred by a gag order from discussing the case, until after all of the officers’ cases have been adjudicated.
Ryan says Mosby’s office couldn’t accept the evidence and she had her own agenda.
“I take my oath very seriously”, she said.
The death of Gray, who was black, ignited a wave of protests as debate surged nationwide over whether police use excessive force, particularly against African-Americans.
White was set to undergo her trial later this year. Three had been acquitted earlier. She did not let up Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the prosecutor said the decision not to proceed with the remaining trials was “agonizing”.
Miller testified against his colleagues at previous trials and will be tried by two prosecutors new to the case.
During his arrest, officers placed Gray in the back of a police van, which made several stops.
Mr Gray’s stepfather, Richard Shipley, expressed his gratitude to Ms Mosby and prosecutors and said the family stands with them.
Marvin Cheatham, 66, president of the Matthew Henson Neighborhood Association, near Gray’s neighborhood, said that he thought Mosby had no other choice than to drop the remaining cases.
Gray’s death caused national outrage and protests across Baltimore.
Shouting into the microphone as she read from prepared remarks, Mosby said the case showed “an inherent bias that is a direct result of when police police themselves”.
Miller was compelled to testify at Nero’s trial under a limited form of immunity created to protect his constitutional right against self-incrimination while freeing him to speak about the events that transpired on the morning of Gray’s arrest.
BALTIMORE charges suddenly dropped from the three cops still awaiting test within the 2015 demise of Freddie Grey on Thursday – closing the high profile situation with no beliefs. Three other officers were acquitted.
She declined to take questions, citing a lawsuit the officers have filed against her.
Attorneys for the officers planned a news conference for later Wednesday.
Goodson had faced the most serious charges, including murder, and was portrayed as the officer most culpable by prosecutors.
Prosecutors previously said officers did not do enough to get Gray medical aid after he was injured while handcuffed but not buckled into a seat in the back of the van.

Porter had been scheduled for a retrial in September following a hung jury, and White was scheduled for trial in October.
