It happened at Crystal Cove State Beach in Orange County, California on Sunday morning. It was amputated below the knee when he was about 1 year old. “They stole my leg”.

Their dad, Frank, rummaged through nearby trash cans, dumpsters and bushes hoping someone had tossed it away, but no luck. “If you took the stuff, please, just find a way to get us the leg back”.

On Sunday, Four-year-old Liam Brenes was enjoying the tide pools at Crystal Cove State Park in Orange County, taking in his first day ever at the beach with his family when his father, Frank Brenes, chose to check on the group’s belongings, which they had left on the beach. He is having a great attitude about it but I am crushed’.

According to Brenes, Liam was diagnosed with FATCO syndrome, a rare condition that caused him to be born with only two fingers on his left hand, and no right fibula bone.

He has said that he will ask for a new prosthetic leg for Christmas.

Park rangers have searched the area for the prosthetic leg. Liam’s mom has been blasting the news on her Facebook.

The process of getting a new prosthetic will be taxing for the family, who will have to spend hours traveling back and forth to a hospital in Los Angeles to get a new one fitted and molded. Liam takes karate lessons and plays soccer.

Liam’s family is upset over the incident, with older brother Conner saying, “I’m angry, kind of mixed emotions”.

“It’s wonderful that one act of selfishness has brought out so much selflessness”, Liam’s mother, Amanda McFarland, told the Orange County Register on Tuesday.
