Protest In Solidarity With US Black Lives Matter Movement
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton on Monday defended his strong criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement – hours after Mayor de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray disagreed with his opinion on CNN.

“When you have protesters who are claiming police are racists, all police are racists or that cops are cold-blooded killers, you have the same construct”. “So ‘Black Lives Matter” is not an exclusionary statement. “If they’re wrong, we’ll deal with them in court but your life matters, your life matters to God”, he said. Today, the movement has taken center stage as followers demonstrate against the shooting of black Americans at the hands of police.
What sets Black Lives Matter apart from other social justice groups, however, is its decentralized approach and reliance nearly exclusively on local, rather than national, leadership.
However, Mckesson was quick to set the record straight in an interview with Yahoo News.
A black police officer has explained why he is against the Black Lives Matter movement in an emotionally charged Facebook post that has been viewed thousands of times.
“He’s told me that the words that come out of leaders are important and we’ve got to always believe we can do better”, Rawlings said.
The demonstration, organised by the Anti-Racism Network Ireland and the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland, comes as a fresh wave of protests have gripped the USA following the recent shooting by police of Anton Sterling and Philando Castile.
Philadelphia Police Department Commissioner Richard Ross said the terms Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter should not be mutually exclusive, but he acknowledges the growing divisions between the two groups. People are not getting along in this country.
Meanwhile, de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, believe the movement has enhanced communication about race relations. Five police officers are dead and several injured following a shooting in downtown Dallas Thursday night.
“We can’t affect national narrative, we can’t affect national legislation that comes down and affects local people if local people don’t push back and take a stand about what’s happening in local communities”, Fuller said. “We are in a divided country”.
She said police are less concerned about solving homicides involving black people but put a lot of effort into targeting them for minor crimes or for no reason at all.
“It’s this either-or proposition”, said Ross, who is black.

“I don’t understand why black men die in custody and they’re forgotten the next day”, Williams said.
