Protester attempts to rush stage at Clinton rally

Speaking Tuesday night after winning his primary bid for re-election, Ryan admitted he had not heard the audio of Trump’s controversial remarks, but was informed of the comment and said, “I hope he clears it up very quickly”.

At a rally Tuesday, Trump made a comment that some argued could encourage violence against federal judges or Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton while talking about what kinds of judges she could appoint as president.

But if Trump knew precisely what his words suggested, than he is something else.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The National Rifle Association also backed Mr Trump and warned Mrs Clinton would pick judges that would not uphold the Second Amendment. “This is a strong, powerful movement, the Second Amendment”. Those who were aware of it agreed that Trump was calling for gun-rights supporters to express their views at the ballot box, not to take up arms against their political opponents.

That sparked an online backlash, many accusing him of inciting violence.

Claiming falsely that Clinton wants to revoke the right to gun ownership guaranteed in the Constitution’s Second Amendment, Trump said there would be “nothing you can do”, if she’s elected, to stop her from stacking the Supreme Court with anti-gun justices.

A former head of the Central Intelligence Agency told CNN, “If someone else had said that outside the hall, he’d be in the back of a police wagon now with the Secret Service questioning him”.

At a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs Clinton said Mr Trump had “crossed the line” by saying there may be something gun rights supporters “can do” to stop her.

The firestorm will do little to allay Republican leaders’ concerns about Mr Trump’s inflammatory remarks. “I just don’t believe that’s possible”, Sessions said.

“There can be no other interpretation”, Trump added. “You know, Hillary wants to take your guns away, she wants to leave you unprotected in your home”.

Both Trump and Clinton were confirmed in party conventions last month but Trump’s polling in the United States has dipped since then and Clinton has had a bounce. “Despicable”, Rep. David Cicilline (D-Rhode Island) posted on Twitter along with footage of Trump’s remarks.

“And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump”.
