Protestors line sidewalks at Brock Turner’s OH home
The 21-year-old swimmer, who was released early for good behaviour while incarcerated, was caught by TV news cameras as he left the Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose, California.

A man amid the onlooking crowd yelled “Loser!” at Turner as he climbed into the vehicle. She said he was held in protective custody during his incarceration but his time in jail was uneventful and her department didnt receive any credible or serious threats.
Smith added extra security is in place for Turner’s release.
Brock Turner walks from jail after serving just half his term. OH prison officials earlier this month agreed to take over supervision of Turner’s probation. Protests are expected outside the jail.
The 21-year-old told authorities he plans to live with his parents in his native OH, where he must register as a sex offender for life.
The New York Daily News reports that Turner’s parents, Dan and Carleen Turner, are dealing with a number of people who showed up at their Sugarcreek Township residence to protest what they perceive as legal injustice.
Brock Turner will receive no special treatment when he returns to OH, but law enforcement in Greene County are monitoring social media for threats and protests, officials told this news organization.
Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said Turner has five days to register with his office in Xenia, Ohio, 24 kilometres east of Dayton. “We’re going to treat him like every other sex offender that comes through the doors”.
“We need judges who understand sexual assault and violence against women”, Stanford law professor Michele Dauber, a friend of Turner’s victim and the chair of the recall campaign, said Friday while demonstrating outside the jail.
The crime would normally carry a minimum of two years in prison, to a maximum of 14 years.
Turner returned to his Greene County home as part of the stipulations of his release. After that, the sheriff’s department will send postcards to Turner’s neighbors, alerting them to his nearby residence.
“Well, we didn’t kiss the entire time”, Turner replied, before trailing off. The Turner family could not be reached by telephone this week.
California’s formula has changed several times over the years.
“If more judges bother to educate themselves on the realities of gendered violence there would be fewer Brock Turners”, Harvard Law School graduate Kamilah Willingham said.
Santa Clara County Judge Aaron Persky cited Turner’s youth, clean criminal record and extracurricular considerations when he sentenced Turner.
“I think 6 months was definitely not enough”, Katie Goralski said. “It’s too light of a sentence for a rapist”.
The California Assembly voted 66-0 Monday to make a prison sentence mandatory for the same crime Turner committed.
Im concerned about her safety next year, Heiskala said. There was a lot of hate, she said. “I don’t support vigilantism or mobs”.

Supporters say the ballot measure promotes rehabilitation programs and allows corrections officials to decide who gets early parole and who stays behind bars.
