Sony confirmed earlier this year that it would not be holding a press conference at Gamescom 2015, as it has in previous years.
Sony raised eyebrows when they announced their intention to skip this year’s Gamescom, but they haven’t ignored the European region altogether. While Paris Games Week itself will held in Versailles, Sony has chosen a different location specifically for its conference.
Instead, it opted to host a Paris Games Week showcase, giving it more time to prepare between the event and E3 2015. For starters, a ton of hands-on time with 2015 and 2016’s biggest games, plus a front-row seat for major PlayStation announcements. As for the games that will be shown, it’s nearly certain that audiences will be shown new footage from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as well as Horizon: Zero Dawn.
We may also see something of the next game from French developer Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls), and the likes of Rime and Wild.
