PS4 Pro Multiplayer Will Still Have An Advantage Over Standard PS4

The first, merely dubbed the PlayStation 4, is the new baseline model.

It’s much smaller than the original PlayStation 4.. It’ll sell for $299 starting on September 15. The PS4 Pro will be released on November 10.

General reception to the PS4 Pro has been fairly negative so far- and Microsoft, who saw the reception to their Xbox One S and Xbox One Scorpio reveals earlier this year be exceptionally positive, have made a decision to join in on the fun a bit with two tweets poking fun at Sony and their new console. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration was featured at their NY event, showcased as one of the first 4K games on console. All your PlayStation 4 controllers will still work with it, too.

There are a lot of leaked photos of the new PS4 and judging from these, the new Sony console looks a lot like the new Xbox One S. The PS4 is slimmer and more compact and dons a light-golden color.

So no matter which PlayStation 4 you choose, you will absolutely not miss out on forthcoming PlayStation-exclusive blockbusters like “Horizon: Zero Dawn” or “The Last Guardian”.

Does it mean that going for the Pro doesn’t make much sense? Along with future games launching in 4K right out of the box, Sony is reporting that a number of developers are already working on patches for existing games to take advantage of the new console feature. And in general, the PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to support yet more gorgeous graphical effects than we see on the modern PlayStation 4.

And both consoles will support PlayStation VR, Sony’s forthcoming $399 virtual reality headset. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration launches on October 11, 2016, and will be compatible with the PlayStation 4 Pro. Neither one can do both.

Which brings us to the next point. With PS 4 Pro, it will have another medium to stream in 4K, a format that it has been really pushing hard for greater adoption.

It will be available by the end of September.. That capability will come along with Project Scorpio, a faster version of the Xbox One that will push 6 TFLOPs of computing power.
