As the console war continues, it is time for Microsoft to respond with a high-powered console after Sony introduced the PS4 Pro.

The comparison game has just begun as a Microsoft executive who has a role to play in the Xbox division has spoken up.

The site speculated that because the Xbox One Scorpio is being touted as a premium product, it would be priced above the PS4 Pro.

Since the reveal of the PS4 Pro Microsoft has been keen to express that their next suped-up console will pack more of a punch thanks to it’s superior specs. His opinion about it seems to be less of a compliment. He also doubted if Sony’s console is worthy to be considered as fully 4K.

A Sony PlayStation 4 Pro is displayed during a launch event in New York City, U.S., September 7, 2016. Speaking to a leading gaming magazine, he said, “With just 4.2 teraflops of graphical power, it is not possible to deliver true 4K”. A lot of the teasing comes from the consoles’ lack of ability in allowing fans to experience 4K resolution gaming, something that a lot of high-end PC owners have been able to achieve.

“Once we get to a point with the PC that we’re comfortable and we can start dedicating a little resources into catching up those [console] platforms then we’ll look at doing some announcements and talk about the Xbox Game Preview programme, which is what I would imagine is the first place we’ll get to since Sony doesn’t have something similar”, explained Hicks.

“They’re talking about checkerboard rendering and up-scaling and things like that”. The early launch of the PS4 Pro should also work out in Sony’s favor.

Which means that a lot of the games that have been promised to players so far this generation probably won’t even be available until these new consoles drop.

In another interview, Shannon Loftis, Microsoft Studios general manager said that all Xbox Scorpio games will be rendered in native 4k.
