PS4 Slim Already Out in the Wild, Ahead of Expected September Announcement
The source also reports that the console should be slightly thicker than the basic PlayStation 4 as well as being heavier; with the increased computational power, it makes sense.

The existence of the PS4 Slim has been Sony’s worst kept secret, after units of the console began to appear on eBay and Gumtree in the UK.
Update: We’re been given photo evidence of the PS4 Slim in stock at the Widnes branch of CEX. As you’ll see in the images below, the PS4 Slim’s network status screen allegedly references “Wi-Fi Frequency Band In Use”, which is new, and would be very odd if the console did not support other bands.
Sony’s new cheaper, lighweight PS4 “Slim” model will support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies across 802.11ac/n/g thanks to its new Wi-Fi networking card.
While it is certainly good to see that PlayStation 4 Slim will support 5 GHz WiFi band, however, Sony has not yet officially conformed it.
This is of course fantastic news for gamers who can’t connect to their routers via Ethernet cable as 5GHz offers more stable WiFi speeds as well as being a much less busier band compared to 2.4GHz.

In case you missed it, the PS4 Slim leaked like a buckshot bladder last week, making its way into consumer hands ahead of an expected September launch. One that also features some subtle changes to the controller.
