Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has given his backing to the decision for Ligue 1 matches to go ahead in France, one week removed from the terror attacks on Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu lost two friends in the attacks, and the Italian said, “It’s not an attack on football, it’s an attack on our way of lives”. We keep saying that life goes on, but it’s easier said than done.

The capital side have 38 points from 14 games and lead second-placed Olympique Lyonnais, who slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Nice on Friday, by a massive 13 points after a routine win.

“We are asked to prepare for a match, to play it. We will do so with great professionalism. We have to carry on with our jobs to get over all this”.

The Paris club has been expected to send Blanc packing this summer when his contract expires in the summer but have had a change of heart as PSG improve.

“As of today, no player has knocked on my door and said, ‘Coach, I’m not ready to play.’ I know a few of them are very affected, practically everyone is. If Marco isn’t fit, then I’m able to come in”.

PSG is on the road for two matches before returning to their home venue in Paris, Parc des Princes, on November 28 against Troyes.

Reaching the last four in that competition and retaining the Ligue 1 title are the primary goals for this season.

– PSG have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven away games in Ligue 1.
