PSG ‘offered private jet and hotel chain’ to tempt Neymar

The Brazil global signed a new five-year contract in June that commits him to Camp Nou until 2021, which ended months of speculation over his future.

However, on 1 July Neymar decided instead to commit his long-term future to the Catalans by signing a new five-year deal with Barcelona, increasing his release clause to €200m for the first year of his contract, €222m for the second and €250m for the remaining three campaigns.

Having rejected advances from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, Neymar says he can not now picture himself away from Barcelona.

Brazilian football superstar Neymar’s agent has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) offered the FC Barcelona forward a contract with a whopping 40 million euros ($44.8 million) annual salary that would have made him the highest paid footballer in the world.

On top of the huge salary, Ribeiro also claims that Al-Khelaifi offered Neymar a private jet to travel to Brazil games and a share in a new chain of hotels that would bear his name – similar to Cristiano Ronaldo’s venture. Nasser Al-Khelaifi explained that there would be no tax issues at PSG and that he’d be the No. 1 in the team, which isn’t the case at Barca.

Do you think Neymar should leave Barca to become the main man at PSG?

Neymar, though, chose not to comment on the delicate details surrounding the talks as he said, ” “I can’t confirm the numbers given by Wagner Ribeiro because I don’t like talking about figures”.

‘As I said, I belong to Barca and I’m really happy here’.

Asked whether Ribeiro’s revelations are true, Neymar confirmed during a press conference on Thursday 15 September: “Yes, we had many conversations with many people”. He used PSG to renew with Barca.

Ribeiro added that Neymar, 24, turned down the offer and prefers to stay at Barcelona, as the Brazilian player has extended his contract with the La Liga giants until 2021. “I wanted him to go to PSG but his father advised him to stay”.
