PSG v Arsenal – Champions League

“They were in the same hotel as us in Los Angeles when Thiago Silva got injured and he has still not come back, but I am not too anxious for them because they have been well above the rest of the teams in their league in recent years and I expect to see a different PSG in the Champions League”. The Gunners may not be able to dominate possession on Tuesday as PSG are a very good side.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says it is hard for PSG to measure the damage caused by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure.

The former Lorient defender had been an injury worry for their Champions League encounter with PSG, after having played an important role in Arsenal’s 2-1 Premier League win over Southampton, scoring an acrobatic overhead kick.

“We all have the same goal – our goal is the Champions League”, he told a news conference ahead of the game. But we want to keep giving chances to young players and get the mixture right.

After a 1-1 draw in Paris, a Kevin Campbell goal was enough to separate the teams at Highbury, before the Gunners went on to lift the trophy in Copenhagen with a 1-0 win over star-studded Parma.

“I think they missed a number of players at the back”. We also had a tough fixture list with regards to our fitness levels, but thankfully we are mentally strong enough to make our way gradually into better form.

Unai Emery is the man tasked with engineering PSG’s Champions League breakthrough, but does he have the pieces?

The Frenchman added: “I like to come to Paris”.

“We had more freedom in the second half, we controlled the ball better”.

“Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud should come back in to give the side a more familiar feel but, for me, Granit Xhaka has to play on Tuesday”.

“Marquinhos is a great young player with huge potential, you can see him improving every day, and now he’s in the starting XI of the Brazilian national team, and he won the Olympic gold medal with Brazil”.
