PSL Highlights: Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings on Feb 13

The 16th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is underway at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United.

All the franchises have till now played six matches each while in the points table, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi have already occupied the first and second positing with 10 and 8 points respectively.

In today’s matches, Karachi Kings will take on Lahore Qalandars while Islamabad United will face Peshawar Zalmi at Sharjah. Overs 16| BATTING: Umar Akmal 19 (15), Dwayne Bravo 1 (2): After a swashbuckling innings from Gayle, the Qalandars are in an excellent position now.

Afridi took four wickets in his four overs and conceded just seven runs. The Zalmi, in reply, chased down the target with the help of Dawid Malan (60) and Mohammed Hafeez (36)’s knocks, according to The National.

Ahmed Shehzad and Sarfraz Ahmed starred with the bat for the Gladiators as they trudged on to another win with 3.9 overs to spare.

Earlier, Grant Elliot finished with impressive figures of 4-15-4 as Quetta restricted Karachi Kings to a paltry total of 126 runs.

Shahzaib Hasan (27) looked to counter-attack with three boundaries and a six while adding 44 runs with Ravi Bopara (45).

Karachi paceman Mohamed Asif saw action again after missing two matches and bowled his full quota of four overs for 21 runs, claiming the wicket of Andre Russell.

Islamabad, on the other hand, will be without the services of Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who flew back to Australia on Saturday after suffering abdominal strain.

With the UAE becoming a very busy cricketing centre, more so in recent years, the tracks have lost much of their life with the result that often there are periods when even Twenty20 matches acquire a new dimension-they begin to mimic Test matches.
