PSX 2015: Dying Light: The Following Release Date, Enhanced Edition Announced

The Following expansion won’t be free for all but the update that brings improved versions of the Bozak Horde and Be the Zombie modes, as well as the Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions and Ultimate Survivor Bundle, is free. However, if you chose to buy “Dying Light: Enhanced Edition” you’ll also get all of the DLC released since launch along with the upcoming expansion “The Following” which takes the game into some new territory and seems like a major addition. For starters, the newly enhanced game will apparently include 100 new animation, an improved enemy AI system, new NPC models, and new parkour moves.

Game developer Techland has announced “Dying Light: Enhanced Edition” for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. As previously covered, The Following will see, among other things, Dying Light’s gameplay expanded upon through a new map/setting as well as the introduction of drivable vehicles.

The Enhanced Edition will be coming in February next year, on the same day that The Following is released.

These enhancements will be made available to all Dying Light players, so don’t forget to check out our announcement trailer and stay tuned for more cool news coming this week.

Free to download for season pass holders, the option to purchase The Following separately will also be available, as well as an Enhanced Edition of the game that will contain the original game, the season pass and The Following for $59.99.

Recently, Techland announced that The Following and Dying Light’s season pass will cost more as of next week due to the “increased scale of the project”. If you’re getting in on the expansion only, it’ll be $19.99 / £15.99 – and if you’re quick and certain you want more of Techland’s climb-and-clobber zombie game, The Following is still available at a lower price of $15 until December 8.
