Psychnauts is coming to PS4!

After all, the recently-announced Psychonauts VR game, Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, will be exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation VR headset, which should prove valuable as Sony competes for consumer dollars against competitors such as HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift.

The news is out, Psychonauts will arrive on Playstation 4 in the spring. The game was made for the PS2, so it will receive some graphical updates to appropriately work on the console, but will otherwise be the same title you loved from ’05. First, the massive crowdfunding campaign for the decade-in-the-making sequel has been a big success, surpassing its $3.3 million goal.

For the uninitiated, Psychonauts follows the story of Raz, a “gifted young psychonaut-in-training, who needs to venture into one twisted mind after another to blast personal demons and clean out mental cobwebs”, as PCMag explained in its 2005 review of the game. After learning to control his powers, Raz slowly uncovers a sinister plot by delving into the minds of his instructors.

Sony has been good to Psychonauts developer Double Fine.

Psychonauts is having one heck of a comeback. Considered by many to be a classic PS2 game from Tim Schaefer and Double Fine Studios, the game is set for release this spring, and will be up-rendered to 1080p, while also having trophy support.

In the latest PS4 news, Sony (NYSE:SNE) announced that the original Psychonauts is coming to PlayStation 4. And soon you’ll be able to enjoy it in remade glory on the PS4.
