Puducherry Assembly polls: Congress wins 4 seats, AINRC bag one
AIADMK, which contested the polls on its own, bagged two seats.

Chief Minister and AINRC founder N Rangasamy won the Indira Nagar constituency against V Aroumougam AKD of the Congress by 3,404 votes, reported PTI.
AINRC also won from Kadirgamam (N S J Jayabal), Karaikal North (P R N Thirumurugan), Mangalam (S V Sugumaran), Mannadipet (T P R Selvame) and Nedungadu (Chandirapriyanga).
The Congress party won Kamaraj Nagar (V Vaithithilingam), Nellithope (John Kumar), Yanam (Malladi Krishna Rao), Kamaraj Nagar and Lawspet (V P Sivakolundhu).
AIADMK candidates bagged Oupalam (A Anbalagan) and Muthialpet (Vaiyapuri Manikandan) seats. Though AIADMK is set for victory in Tamil Nadu, the party is trailing in the Union Territory with lead in just 1 seat, while DMK is maintaining its lead in 4 seats.
“People are totally fed up with the AINRC administration and they have now reposed confidence in the Congress-DMK combine”, he said.
The results for the 30-member Assembly for Puducherry will be announced on Thursday.
Former Congress strongman P Kannan, who joined the AIADMK on the eve of the elections, lost to his protege K Lakshminarayanan in Raj Bhavan constituency. Two booths in Yanam recorded cent per cent polling.
Congress-DMK combine emerged as the winners in the elections, bagging 17 seats in the 30-member Assembly. AIADMK has won four seats and leading in one.

Congress heavyweight E Valsaraj lost to independent V Ramachandran in Mahe. But in the wake of a number of close contests, the vote share has translated into a significant lead for the national party in terms of seats won.
