Pune: Man seen walking on road with wife’s head

A 53-year-old man, Ramu Chaven, was spotted walking with the head of his wife on a street in Pune, according to a report by CNN-IBN.

In a gruesome incident, a man with a severed head was spotted strolling around the streets of Pune city, located about 150 km (93 miles) from Mumbai, India on Friday morning, according to IBNLive.

The personha Ramachandra Chavan, around 58-years of age has allegedly beheaded his 55-year-old wife Sonabai and was seen walking on the streets with his severed head until the traffic police stopped him and arrested him.

The man was reportedly mentally unstable and killed his wife apparently due to an extramarital affair. They quickly hold Chavan and cover the head with a cloth.

The man allegedly beheaded his wife in public and was seen holding the axe in his other hand.

The police have booked him under murder charges, while further investigations are under way.

Senior Police Inspector, M Chavhan said, “He was taken into custody immediately. It was a case of household quarrel between a couple where Chavan lost his control and killed his wife using a knife”.

The accused, identified as Ramu Chavan, works as a watchman in a housing society in Katraj area.
