The entire railway track between Jammu to Pathankote stretch was checked with the help of dog squads and railway police personnel on Monday morning to rule out the possibility of sabotage by terrorists.

According to reports, attackers came in a hijacked Maruti auto and opened fire at the bus.

“Be it the promise of AFSPA revocation, dialogue with separatists, opening of additional trade routes, the rehabilitation of flood victims or of ensuring that BJP does not continue its nefarious mission against Article 370, Mufti has broken every single promise that he made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he alleged. However, due to the tight security measures adopted after similar terror attacks in the past, besides the coming Independence Day celebrations, the terrorists appear to have proceeded towards neighbouring Punjab.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Monday said that better coordination and joint efforts between the Centre and state governments’ was required to deal with the terror attacks such as what has happened in Gurdaspur, Punjab.

In a series of tweets, Omar wrote, “will be very interested to see what emerges about the identity of the terrorists involved in the Gurdaspur attack this morning”. After that, the gunmen attacked the police station, killing a policeman on guard duty. They attacked a state roadways bus in which four passengers were injured. Gurdaspur borders Pakistan and has a heavy military presence.
