When the Big Ten returns to a 16-game women’s basketball schedule next season, Iowa will play only Illinois, Maryland and Rutgers home and away.

Michigan will play home-and-home series against Michigan State, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois and Nebraska and will face Maryland, Ohio State, Purdue and Penn State in single games in Ann Arbor.

That’s according to the Big Ten’s 2016-17 basketball matchups, released on Monday by the conference office. MI coach John Beilein said Saturday that his team will play one more game against a marquee opponent, but he declined to specify. IN will play home and home matchups with five schools and will play four teams only at home and four others only on the road.

Home only: Rutgers, Nebraska, Michigan State, Illinois.

Indiana’s Big Ten title defense will see the Hoosiers go to West Lafayette and Madison each twice next season. IU played Wisconsin twice a year ago as well, the home team winning both times, and the Hoosiers will face Purdue twice for the first time in two seasons. Last year, IU hosted Maryland and Ohio State and had a home and home series with Iowa and Minnesota.

Dates and times for the games will be announced at a later date.

IU will open the regular season November 11 against Kansas at Pearl Harbor in the Armed Forces Classic.
