Wednesday is day 22 for Davis, and he’s hoping to get 22 people out tonight to join him in the challenge, at 6:30 p.m.in front of Cst.

Have you or do you plan to participate in the 22 push up challenge to help fight against veteran suicide?

Actors and musicians are now filming themselves dropping down and giving 22 pushups – not as a fitness regime but as an effort to honor those who serve and bring attention to the military veterans who commit suicide every day. The number of veteran suicides has since dropped to 20.

The challenge raised over $1 Million and led to the discovery of a new gene, NEK1, which is now known to be among the most common genetic contributors of the disease.

The 22-Pushup Challenge may be may be the biggest online sensation since the Ice Bucket Challenge, which was created to raise awareness for ALS. Once a nomination is done, they will post the video to social media where the next participant goes on to do the same. It’ll count towards the 22 million goal when shared on social media with the hashtag #22pushupchallenge.

Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, an activity that made many celebrities and people around the globe dump a bucket of ice and water of their head? It is also recommended to do group push-ups and be creative with the challenge as well.

So far celebs like Chris Pratt, Anna Farris, Chris Evans, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have participated.
