Pushbullet Gains Marshmallow Optimizations In New Update
Loyal Pushbullet fans have been clamoring for an Android Marshmallow update and good news, it’s finally here.

If you’ve been using Pushbullet for the last couple of years, you likely already know how beneficial of an app it can be, allowing you to easily share links, images, and other stuff quickly and easily between devices.
Great news for Pushbullet users, as developers have just announced their Android application has just been updated with several major improvements and a few bug fixes. This feature requires Android 6.0 Marshmallow or newer. We work the permissions requests into our setup process and feel this results in a more transparent app. It restricts the background apps from draining the data and battery life when the device was not used for a long time. The update introduces support for runtime permissions and Direct Share, so you not only get to specify to Pushbullet which permissions of your device that it can access, you can also now share even quicker.
If you’re feeling extra tinfoil hat-y and you’d prefer Pushbullet not have access to SMS messages, now you can enable and revoke this access as you need it. Currently it’s set up to ask for permission for four specific groups: SMS, contacts, phone and storage. In previous versions of Android, if you accidentally tapped “Always” and later changed your mind, you could head to the app info and press the Clear defaults button.

The update hit the Play Store today, and is available to download free right now. Apart from the Nexus devices, the LG is the first manufacturer to released the Marshmallow update for their device.
