The Obama-Putin relationship grew especially tense after Russia’s annexation of the Crimea region of Ukraine previous year.

Putin’s move yields dividends for Russian Federation in several ways beyond protecting its only Mediterranean naval base and supporting an ally who’s being pushed deeper into a corner.

“When it comes to communication channels and coordination of possible actions, yes, in fact, this topic was discussed and certain agreements and points during the meeting with Netanyahu were reached”, Peskov told reporters in a conference call.

“If you are talking about a no-fly zone over the whole of Syria, that’s probably out of the question now”, said Mr Eyal.

Political adversaries… President Barack Obama meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, on June 17, 2013.

Putin has been coy about his goals.

“What the Russians are putting in now indicates an intent to be there for a long period”, he said.

Syrian government forces have for the first time confirmed that they are using Russian-built drones to bomb various sites, as Russia says it is prepared to launch unilateral airstrikes in the country. Asked if the Kremlin could send troops to fight IS, Putin answered that “we are looking at various options”.

The embarrassing incident has now apparently been smoothed out with Putin’s call. These elements have consistently been calling for the overthrow of the Syrian government, even though this is not in the national interest of the people of the United States. “Russia is creating facts on the ground”.

“Not only with the United States of America, Russia, but with important regional partners, Iran, and Sunni countries such as Saudi Arabia”. “But Putin will act anyway if this doesn’t happen”.

The official added: “Despite our profound differences with Moscow, the president believes that it would be irresponsible not to test whether we can make progress through high-level engagement with the Russians”.

The administration is considering ending an 18-month freeze in military-to-military talks with Russian Federation to avoid accidental confrontations with US aircraft already conducting attacks inside Syria.

Russian Federation has recently stepped up its military involvement in Syria in a bid to shore up its embattled leader.
