Putin Says Russia’s Ready to Improve Ties With the US
The Russian leader also criticised Turkey for “hiding behind” fellow North Atlantic Treaty Organisation states after the incident, before apologising to Russia.

However, he used a conciliatory tone at times when addressing Russia’s relations with Ukraine and Georgia in the marathon appearance that lasted some three hours. Putin added that while Russian Federation does not have regular troops in eastern Ukraine, certain military tasks have been performed in the region.
“The real disposable household income has gone down; fixed investment has dropped by 5.7 percent over the first 10 months of the year”, he said.
“The Russian economy has passed the crisis – at least the peak of the crisis”, he said”.
Poroshenko said Putin’s decision to suspend their treaty was unfortunate.
He said the country was recovering from the worst of its economic crisis caused by the collapse of global oil prices, but admitted economic forecasts would have to be adjusted. From September to October, GDP grew by about 0.3 percent, compared with about 0.1 percent from the previous one-month period.
“We had calculated next year’s budget based on $50 per barrel”.
Putin said Russian Federation was ready to persuade separatists in eastern Ukraine that a compromise was needed in order to achieve a political settlement of the conflict there. “We won’t rush with recalculations and making adjustments in the budget, because that brings with it a reduction in the volume of financing for social spending, the nonfinancial sector”.
Mr Putin praised Fifa’s suspended president, Sepp Blatter, for his contribution to the sport. Although the country is at risk of its longest recession in two decades, his public approval recently touched a record high amid airstrikes in Syria against Islamic State and other militants, even as sanctions imposed on Russian Federation over the Ukraine crisis still weigh on the economy.
Meanwhile, Moscow’s military operation in Syria will continue until Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime begins negotiations, the Russian leader said.
US Secretary of State John Kerry recently traveled to Moscow to try and bridge the gap between world powers the US and Russian Federation on the issue. Turkey said it acted after the Russian jet entered its airspace and ignored repeated warnings, while Russia says the plane on a bombing mission in Syria never crossed the border.
“I believe we will have a very good relationship with Russian Federation”. Mr Putin said that he sees no possibility of overcoming the diplomatic strain under the current Turkish leadership. There was no Russian air defense system there, but now S-400 is installed.
