Qandeel Baloch Killed By Her Brother For Money – Details
City police chief Azhar Akram said: “Waseem killed her by covering her mouth and nose after which he fled to Dera Ghazi Khan with two of his friends”. However, police now say she was “strangled to death” at her residence.

Waseem said “she brought dishonour to the Baloch name” due to risque videos and statements that she posted on social media. After causing upset among conservatives for spending time with a Muslim cleric, Azeem allegedly drugged Baloch and strangled her in her sleep.
“She wasn’t aware I was killing her”, he said.
In his police complaint, Qandeel’s father said Waseem killed her as he was against her working in showbiz. “My brother is not involved in the murder”, Waseem was quoted as saying.
The brother of a Pakistani woman who challenged social norms with racy posts on social media has admitted strangling her in the family home.
“Those who intend to or humiliate clerics must learn from QandeelBaloch’s fate”, Mufti Abdul Qawi said.
Ms Baloch became famous In Pakistan in 2014 after a video of her pouting at the camera and asking “How em looking?” went viral.
The funeral prayers of model Qandeel Baloch were offered in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Shah Sadar Din area on Sunday.
Baloch, a model, singer, and Media Personality who had over 700,000 followers on Facebook, 49K on Twitter, and 49K on Instagram, was known for posting provocative photos to her social media accounts and in recent months for her increasingly vocal political views.
Her request for better security was ignored by the government, Dawn reported, despite pleas made three weeks ago to the Interior Minister and other senior officials.
Her candid videos, pictures and commentary on her personal life stirred controversy in conservative, Muslim-majority Pakistan, but garnered her many fans online.

Baloch was an outspoken progressive and feminist, presenting herself as a figure of female empowerment against misogyny and domestic violence, which is extremely common in Pakistan, where the Associate Press reports, “hundreds of women are murdered by family members each year in so-called honor killings”.
