Qandeel Baloch’s Brother Arrested, Confesses Killing Sister Over ‘Controversial’ Posts
“I proudly admit to murdering Qandeel, and have earned heaven and honour by providing relief to my parents and family”, Waseem Baloch, who was arrested on Saturday, said at a press conference held by the Multan police. Late at night, when the rest of the family were asleep, Waseem crept into his sister’s room and strangled her to death.

Her younger brother Waseem Baloch was already caught for drugging and strangling Qandeel in their family home.
Now, arrangements are being made to send Qandeel’s body to her hometown of Shah Saddardin in Dera Ghazi Khan for burial.
Multan police chief Akram Azhar said authorities will charge Azeem with carrying out a so-called honour killing and seek the “maximum punishment”.
Now, according to an agency report, Qandeel Baloch’s brother has been arrested in Punjab Province for strangulating her to death. Her brother Waseem Azeem confessed to ending her life by strangulation as an “honor” killing.
Earlier this week Baloch had stirred up more controversy by releasing a kitschy music video on YouTube called “Ban”, which mocked some of the restrictions that she had been subjected to.
The 26-year-old actor-cum-model, whose real name was Fouzia Azeem, was killed by her brother named Wasim, who has fled after the incident.
He alleged that Waseem, who was against Qandeel working in showbiz, had taken this extreme step at the behest of his brother Mohammad Aslam Shaheen.
She had shot to fame and notoriety through social media postings that would be considered tame by Western standards but were seen as scandalous by many in deeply conservative Pakistan.
Local media reported Baloch had struggled to reconcile her family’s conservative values with her social media stunts and received frequent threats from the public.

Baloch’s murder is one of thousands of honor killings committed each year.
