He was arrested late on Saturday, and confessed to drugging and then strangling his sister “for honor” during a press conference on Sunday.

Wsaeem was recorded saying, “She was bringing disrepute to our family’s honour and I could not tolerate it any further”. Despite Qandeel being a “family breadwinner” Azeem found her actions “unbearable” and even says if he didn’t kill her he was considering committing suicide to end the embarrassment he was feeling on behalf of his entire family. “He escaped after strangling Qandeel”.

Ms Baloch’s parents lodged a report with police accusing her brother of killing her, of being complicit and another brother, in accordance with Dawn.

The area’s RPO said, “Baloch was killed by her brother over honour in Muzaffarabad’s Green Town area. Like the maulvi issue”, Waseem said, referring to a recent controversy surrounding Baloch’s selfies with Mufti Qavi.

Baloch’s killer, her brother Muhammad Waseem, fled after her murder.

With 750,000 followers on Facebook, she called herself a “modern day feminist” and was recently writing posts about challenging old practices of Pakistani society.

Numerous girls are killed each year in Pakistan in so-called honour killing cases.

Her brother told police that her videos were “objectionable” and “intolerable” and that he had no regrets over killing her.
