Staff on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Auckland have followed through on a deal to wear black jerseys if Australia failed to win the Rugby World Cup. The two pilots on board today could have easily passed as assistant coaches in their All Black finery.

“We still love the Qantas Wallabies, but a bet is a bet”, Qantas wrote on their Facebook page today. Air New Zealand has attempted to coax Qantas into a wager that would result in the Flying Kangaroo painting black livery on one of its 737s if the Wallabies lose.

After a truce in a battle between Qantas and Virgin in the domestic market, Air New Zealand has shown little hesitation at taking the baton from its alliance partner over the past year.

These Qantas crew members pull on their All Blacks jerseys, as part of their commitment to an airline wager with Air New Zealand.

Air New Zealand originally suggested the losing airline paint their plane in their rival teams colours.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will also eat humble pie after a bet with Prime Minister John Key.
