QB Wentz comes through again as Eagles beat Bears

Cutler left Monday night’s 29-14 loss to the Eagles, who are led by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, in the third quarter after going 12 of 17 for 157 yards with one interception.
McPhee, who is now on the physically unable to perform list, was not available to the media afterward, so it’s unknown whether he knew that Cutler’s thumb was already bothering him at the time of the interception. Curb your enthusiasm, indeed.
Schwartz, who blitzed just three times last week against Cleveland, brought safety Malcolm Jenkins off the edge on the second play of the game and the tone was set.
Went has also completed 60.6% of his 71 total pass attempts in the Eagles first two games but it’s worth noting that 26 of those completed passes flew 5 or less yards past the line of scrimmage.
And when you think about it, Cutler has become the Webb of quarterbacks. But once it was aggravated, it was more apparent that he wasn’t going to make it to the end, and the pick six was the final nail in the coffin. And, you know, silver linings and all that, but this is a team that should be playing for draft position anyway. The John Fox era might rival the comedy stylings of the Marc Trestman Bears after all. The secondary overcame the absence of injured cornerback Leodis McKelvin and shut down Jay Cutler and the Bears. But his interception Monday night looked more like a bad read than a bad right thumb.
You can toss the reports of Carson Wentz not being National Football League ready, or it will take him time to adjust to the speed of the National Football League coming out of “little ole” North Dakota State right out the window cuz the Eagles have themselves a quarterback.
Vladislav Namestnikov, Nikita Kucherov, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Vladimir Tarasenko scored on consecutive shots and Sergei Bobrovsky made 42 saves as Russian Federation beat Team North America, 4-3, in a fast-paced, end-to-end game at the World Cup of Hockey.
Adding to the Bears’ problems, they now face a short week ahead.
Matthews is off to a fine start statistically. “Those who are successful generally don’t play like rookies”.
But the Eagles beat the hapless Browns (0-2) and the Bears (0-2). While the play was unfortunately wiped out by a holding penalty, you can bet Wentz earned a lot of respect from his teammates with this throw. Don’t they teach neutral zone in college?
As it turns out, there was another thumb of great concern at Halas Hall.
With the injuries piling up for the Bears, one may have to wonder what use the strength and conditioning coach is to the team.
Before the draft, the general consensus on the two quarterbacks was that Wentz had a slight advantage in ability but that Goff had a huge advantage in being better prepared for the NFL.
