“QPR have approached us asking for permission to speak to Jimmy and we have agreed to that”.
JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK is inching ever closer to being appointed manager of Queens Park Rangers.
Hasselbaink has enjoyed a successful 12 months at the Pirelli Stadium, during which Burton have been promoted from League Two as champions.
Prior to taking charge of Burton, Hasselbaink was the manager of Belgian side Royal Antwerp.
The Queens Park Rangers fans are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing who will be best suited for their clubs vacant managerial position.
But Hasselbaink has always figured highly in their thoughts and an appointment is expected after QPR’s game at Reading on Thursday night.
Neil Warnock is the current interim manager at the Hoops as they take their time over replacing Chris Ramsey, who was sacked at the start of November.
Asked about speculation that he may leave Burton after beating Millwall in midweek he told BBC Radio Derby: “They can speculate, but I can’t stop people doing that or control that”.
“Obviously the contact has come out in the papers now and it is something that could happen so watch this space”.
