Johnson is actually coming off a loss himself, however it came via a highly controversial split decision verdict against Beneil Dariush earlier this month, with many believing he’d done enough to get the victory himself. The 30-year-old Stockton native’s most recent bout is a unanimous decision loss to Rafael dos Anjos, who became the UFC lightweight champion in the fight after. He claimed he could have protested the official result with the Tennessee Athletic Commission overseeing UFC Fight Night 73, but didn’t want to waste his time behind the scenes.
Diaz Vs Johnson is set to take place on the main card of the UFC On FOX 17 event whic will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Rafael Dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone. “Nothing has changed. I’m still going to go in there with the momentum”.
Nate Diaz is back.
During a snapchat Q&A (via MMA Fighting), Joe talked about their fondness for one another and says though they might eventually meet in the center of the cage, Lauzon would rather avoid it as long as possible. “That’s what he does. I’ll egg him on a little bit”.

Nate Diaz will make his return to the Octagon against Michael Johnson in December. “I hadn’t done jiu jitsu in two months because my brother, we don’t get along so well sometimes, we were doing kickboxing sparring and he double-legged me through the ropes into a hard piece of metal”.
