Although no information regarding a release date was given, the developers have revealed that the game has been in the works for quite some time.

Smilegate “specifically chose Remedy to bring [its] unique blend of storytelling, memorable characters and inventive gameplay to CrossFire’s global audience”, the company said.

The shooter offers wide range of objective-based competitive 8v8 modes. The game also had an overarching story with two rival factions competing for a new world order.

So, how exactly are Remedy set to take this fairly bland good vs. evil story and make something legendary out of it? Details about CrossFire 2 are still scarce for now.

Little is known about CROSSFIRE 2, other than the fact that it should be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and there should be an even split between PvE (Player versus Environment) and PvP (Player versus Player) activities.

Remedy has seen much success in the world of single player campaigns.

Crossfire was first released in 2007. As of now, the cast, scriptwriter, distributor, and director have not yet announced. The movie adaptation will be produced by Fast & Furious Producer Neal Moritz.
