Quarterback Deondre Francoise is a star as FSU rallies to win

All of 2014 was much, much more stressful.

Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, center, grabs a MS fumble during the second half of an NCAA college football game, Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, in Orlando, Fla. There were very few blowouts, and many, many close games. “We’ve just got to be prepared”.

The game was one of two completely different halves.

Ole Miss built a big lead in the first half before Florida State charged back to win. The offensive line and (especially) the defensive line look like they’re going to be fine, even without (respectively) Laremy Tunsil and Robert Nkemdiche.

It was a disappointing loss for Ole Miss.

After a slow start, Francois got Florida State’s offense on a roll.

No. 4 Florida State vs.

A 28-6 barrage of offense by Ole Miss to start the game was suddenly awash.

Deondre Francois threw for 419 yards and two touchdowns, and Ricky Aguayo set a school record, and FBS freshman record, with six field goals as the No. 4 Seminoles rallied from a 22-point deficit and opened the season with a 45-34 win over No. 11 MS at Camping World Stadium. On the defensive side of the ball, DeMarcus Walker recorded four sacks while his defensive brothers chipped in with three interceptions and a forced fumble.

Francois had a tough time in the first half of his debut for the Seminoles on Monday.

The clip was captured by the cameras on-hand to shoot “A Season with Florida State Football” which premieres Tuesday, Sept. 6 on SHOWTIME.

Kermit Whitfield finished the drive off with a touchdown run, giving the ‘Noles its first lead of the game 29-28.

Ole Miss not only received a stinging defeat while crumbling in the second half, but also a dose of adversity.

The matchup between the fourth-ranked FSU Seminoles and the number eleven Ole Miss Rebels on Monday night from the Citrus Bowl Stadium started off with a bang.

Defensive back Derwin James was named the defensive back of the week after leading the Seminoles in tackles with eight.

Kicker, yes the kicker, Ricky Aguayo took the Seminoles faithful back to the days of Sebastian Janikowski as he booted six critical field goals, including three from 40+. Then came the second half, representing the resilience that Tallahassee has shown through it all.

From this point forward, Winston will be a little busier on game weekends, so Florida State won’t be able to count on him to try and rally the team from a deficit.

Thought that was a good note to leave things on.
