The okey doke is just another odd twist in the signal-caller’s career, which nosedived from promising young talent to camp arm in short order.

The Dolphins, after releasing Freeman, were heading to camp with only three quarterbacks on the roster.

Freeman, a longshot to make the roster, will battle to become the backup to starter Ryan Tannehill.

The Dolphins also have quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who was on the practice squad last year, under contract.

A former 1st round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Freeman had early success before faltering in 2013.

The 6-6, 240-pound Freeman joined Miami after spending five seasons (2009-13) with Tampa Bay as well as time with Minnesota (2013) and part of the 2014 offseason with the New York Giants.
