The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night, dropping their record to 3-4, good for third place in the NFC East. After the game, Rivera was already prepared to say Addison was “very doubtful” for the Panthers’ next game against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.

That result gave the Seahawks their fourth straight win over the 49ers, and it will have pleased them to dump San Francisco down to the depths of 2-5, effectively ending any lingering thoughts that the 49ers had of being able to make the Playoffs.
With 9:32 remaining in the third quarter and the Eagles trailing the Panthers 21-6, Ryan Mathews took a Sam Bradford hand off 63-yards for a touchdown.
Now the Philadelphia Eagles own a record of 3-3, and have put a corresponding record of 3-3 against the spread.
They are 6-0 and feeling as if things are going their way.
Tolbert scored on a 2-yard run to open the scoring and added a 2-yard reception on the first possession of the second half. Overall he has protected the football and delivered for his team when it has mattered most, such as in the final two minutes last week against Seattle. That’s because Sturgis booted the ensuing kickoff out of bounds, giving the Panthers great field position at the 40. The Panthers have one of the best linebacker corps in the league and an outstanding group of cornerbacks.
Stewart appeared to have fumbled on the first play of the game for the Panthers, the Eagles recovering at the 37-yard line of Carolina.
Newton started to run the ball right and when the Birds’ defense shifted that way, he pitched the ball to Ted Ginn Jr., who sprinted down the left sideline for a gain of 43.
Carolina built its lead to 11 points on their next drive after Ginn took an end around from Newton and sprinted 43 yards to the Eagles’ eight-yard line.
However, Mathews received just one carry from that point.
The defense uncharacteristically gave up 177 yards rushing, nearly twice what opponents averaged in the first five games.
Murray signed a five-year contract with the Eagles in the offseason that will pay him up to $42 million, but his production doesn’t warrant him to be the feature back – that honor should go to Ryan Mathews. He had a 63-yard touchdown, the longest of his career.
For most of the season Newton has done a good job protecting the football.
Jordan Matthews shows potential, but he continually fails to make catches in traffic and his missed catch in first quarter led to an interception.
“The drops hurt big time, ” Kelly said, Sunday night.
Bradford threw for just 205 yards, failed to find the endzone, and tossed another interception. He had help on that front, as tight end Zach Ertz and wide receiver Josh Huff dropped catchable passes. RB-PR Darren Sproles ran for TD and returned punt for score in last game vs. Carolina….
-LB Luke Kuechly made his first appearance in a home game this season. In fact, three of the four members in the secondary had interceptions.

Bennie Logan, who had been playing at a Pro Bowl level, had two encroachment penalties that allowed Newton to have an easy rushing touchdown in the second quarter. The Panthers may be facing a strong and powerful defense from the Eagles. Back spasms could turn out to be minor, but with a big man like Peters, you never know. While there is no official word on the injury yet, the replay was disturbing.
