Quarterback Scott Tolzien leaving Packers for the Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts, who lost quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to retirement, have signed Green Bay’s primary backup Scott Tolzien to a two-year deal. Hundley had an excellent preseason, completing 69.2 percent of his passes for 630 yards, with seven touchdowns, one interception and a rating of 129.7.

Original signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin in 2011, Tolzien has also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and most recently, the Green Bay Packers organizations. Tolzien played in three games for the Packers last season and completed the only pass he threw.

“Scott Tolzien did a great job for us”, McCarthy said.
After weeks of inquiry about the Colts’ backup quarterback spot, has the team found its guy? “His work ethic is exceptional”.
Tolzien was a backup with the Green Bay Packers from 2013-15.
The Colts hope they won’t be seeing much of Tolzien in the huddle after preseason ends, but with Andrew Luck missing half of 2015, anything is possible.

Without switching gears, McCarthy went from talking about Tolzien, the NFL’s 2014 leader in preseason passer rating, to Hundley, the NFL’s 2015 leader in preseason passer rating.
