The Buckingham Palace was the location of two major diplomatic gaffes on Tuesday with both British Prime Minister David Cameron and Queen Elizabeth being caught on camera making indiscreet remarks that has left the country’s diplomatic staff red-faced.

The monarch’s remarks were caught on tape as she was introduced to Scotland Yard Commander Lucy D’Orsi, who the Queen was told had overseen security during Xi’s state visit to the UK.

Ties between China and Britain will not be harmed by Queen Elizabeth being caught on camera saying Chinese officials were “very rude”, said an influential Chinese newspaper on Thursday which instead laid the blame on Western media “barbarians”.

Upon hearing of D’Orsi’s role during the Chinese visit, the queen immediately responds, “Oh, bad luck”.

He tells the Queen D’Orsi was the commander during the Chinese visit.

Many have described Queen Elizabeth’s remark as ‘uncharacteristic.’ During her 64-year reign, the Queen has never stroked any controversy with her personal remarks on political or global issues.

Buckingham Palace’s cameraman recorded the conversation and distributed the video, which aired Wednesday. The palace said that Xi’s visit had been “extremely successful”. Royal garden parties are filmed by the cameraman who covers the palace for United Kingdom broadcasters.

British officials had added layers of pomp and splendor — including a state banquet at the palace — during Xi’s four-day state visit.

The Queen said: “They were very rude to the ambassador”. Queen Elizabeth’s declaration is unusual because she generally doesn’t speak out on foreign and political matters. Two reporters standing nearby did not hear her comments, but they were clearly audible on the recording.

“Both sides have high level recognition of that”, he said.

“President Xi’s visit to Britain a year ago was a very successful one”, he told a daily news conference.

China tried to smuggle a spy into the Queen’s carriage during President Xi Jinping’s state visit past year, it has emerged.

The commander told her that it was a “testing time”. Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said Wednesday that he did not want an apology from Prime Minister David Cameron for calling his country “fantastically corrupt”, but said Britain could return assets stolen by officials who fled to London.

Now it’s royalty’s turn, and none other than Queen Elizabeth II.
