Queen Elizabeth II, family mark 90th birthday with parade
The Queen looked just as smashing, marking her milestone birthday in a vibrant green coat and dress by Stewart Parvin and matching hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan, which was decorated with cerise colored flowers.

Prince George, who is almost three, waved at the planes as they flew by, while one-year-old Princess Charlotte, who was carried by Kate, blocked her ears.
Queen Elizabeth II turned 90 in April 2016 but her official birthday celebration took place today June 11.
The monarch is technically the head of Britain’s armed forces, and would traditionally lead an army into war.
Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the Royal Family celebrated her 90th birthday with a parade on Saturday.
The Queen was accompanied in her horse-drawn carriage by 95-year-old Prince Philip, with Prince Harry, the Duchess Camilla and the Duchess of Cambridge traveling together in another carriage.
Her diamond Brigade of Guards brooch – appropriately chosen for the military spectacular – combined the badges of the five Household Regiments – the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards.
Luckily the incident happened before her the Queen and the Royal Family arrived. After the various military bands have performed a musical “troop”, the escorted regimental colour (flag) is carried down the ranks.
Also in April, Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade and former soccer star Jay Jay Okocha joined British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Thomas Arkwright and other United Kingdom dignitaries in the country to celebrate the Queen in Lagos, Nigeria.
Heather Gunner, who was born in the same year as Elizabeth II, will join 10,000 revellers at the lunch. She loves horses, corgis and dorgis (both small dog breeds) and, despite employing 1,200 people, she still feeds her own dogs every day. The Somerset Green home community fêtes her majesty’s 90th with a fun-filled day of British fare (think fish and chips and shepherd’s pie), beer tastings, some England vs. Russian Federation soccer, and door prizes that are sure to make you feel like royalty.
British newspapers have been filled with paeans to the queen, and editorials urging the public to show its gratitude for her long reign.
