Queen Elizabeth II turns 90!
The world’s oldest-serving royal, the longest-serving British royal, and now the longest lived British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II turned 90 on Thursday, receiving the greetings of thousands of British citizens as well as wishes from all over the world. She captioned a throwback image from 2013, in which she stands opposite the queen, with a thank you to the monarch for the “magical” day.

Following their walkabout around the crowds gathered at Windsor Castle, the Queen and Prince Philip were driven through the streets of Windsor in an open top Land Rover, where they waved to excited locals.
Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince George and Prince William posed in a photoshoot for a stamp sheet to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
“I know the whole country and the whole House (of Commons) will want to join me in saying “long may she reign over us”, Cameron said on Wednesday.
Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who is in New York Thursday, offered congratulations in a statement from his office.
Including the younger members of the royal family in the commemorative photo was reportedly a decision made by the queen, who thought it important to reflect on the importance of family.
“Today we admire her devotion to duty, and are thankful for her deeply-held affection for our country and unwavering loyalty to all Canadians”.
WINDSOR, England (AP) – Fate unexpectedly made her queen.
There were gun salutes, adoring fans and a brass band as the Queen’s 90th birthday was celebrated.
The queen was also presented with an orange drizzle cake baked by Nadiya Hussain, victor of cookery show The Great British Bake Off.
Royal watchers say despite her advancing years, Elizabeth II is showing no signs of slowing down.
Elsewhere, the day was being marked with an eruption of pomp. “You are a beacon of light to your nation and serve as a source of inspiration for individuals across the world”.
The three photos were taken at Windsor Castle just after Easter by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.
“As she ages, I’m sure that Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, the younger royals, will take on even more duties from her”, he said.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Elizabeth’s grandson Prince William spoke about the legacy the queen has built leading up to her milestone birthday.
