After the soldier fell, some rushed to his aid as the remainder of the Queen’s Guard stood stone-faced. Other senior royals are also expected to travel by carriage along the parade route. According to the Press Association, the celebration featured 1,500 soldiers and 300 horses. On Friday an RAF serviceman fainted and was carried away by paramedics at St. Paul’s Cathedral shortly before the Queen arrived.

Saturday marked the Queen’s official birthday and this year was extra special as Her Majesty turned 90.

They wore crowns that they had designed earlier in the day and also baked a celebratory cake.

Nearly 1,500 officers and their men, in immaculate uniforms, were on parade with more than 300 horses featured.

The festivities continue Sunday with a massive street party in front of the palace.

The royal couple lead the family onto the palace balcony waving as the Royal Air Force jets and vintage World War II planes fly overhead. The palace invited roughly 10,000 people who work at charities supported by the queen for the open air festivities.

Her life is being celebrated this weekend as the nation pays tribute to Britain’s longest reigning and oldest sovereign with formal ceremonies and carnival street parties. Usually the official birthday happens in summer because there is a better chance of good weather in the United Kingdom during the summer months.
