Queen to mark 90th birthday with stroll outside grounds of Windsor Castle

Beacons will be lit throughout the land from 7.30 – 8.30pm on Thursday 21st April in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday this year, and the whole corporate world is clamouring to celebrate it with her.

William, who with his wife Kate and two young children has brought fresh energy to the royals, paid tribute to the matriarch he and his brother Harry describe as “the boss”.

The Gold Cup on Ladies’ Day will be renamed The Gold Cup in Honour of The Queen’s 90th Birthday this year.

In 1937, Elizabeth became a guide, her sister became a Brownie and the late Queen Mother became patron of the Girl Guides. “It is an opportunity for local communities throughout the Borough to celebrate this important milestone in The Queens’ life”.

Princess Eugenie once said of her grandparents: “Together, they are invincible”.

This week Abingdon Museum has marked Her Majesty turning 90 by opening the royal bun throwing exhibition until July and later in the summer will host Fit for a Queen craft sessions.

On April 20th, she and the Duke of Edinburgh will pay a visit to the Royal Mail Windsor delivery office in Windsor to mark the 500th anniversary of the postal service. I mean she is very, very shrewd in just a – what in another walk of life you would call nearly a street sense.

The Elim Church in Star Hill, Rochester, will serve birthday tea and cakes from today until Friday, 10am to 3pm, and a family fun day will mark the occasion at the same times on Saturday.

The Queen became Britain’s longest-reigning monarch on September 9 past year – passing the record of her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria.

Parties must be held on June 11 or 12 to coincide with Her Majesty’s official birthday that month.

The Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, died the same year, and many wondered if the golden jubilee celebrations planned for June would be as celebratory as planned – but they needn’t have anxious, millions across Britain and the Commonwealth joined in, making it a time to remember.
