Quentin Tarantino Will Have Two Versions Of The Hateful Eight In Theaters
Tarantino’s fellow celluloid proponents Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master) and Christopher Nolan (Interstellar) have released movies in the 70mm format in recent years, but it’s mostly reserved for repertory and retrospective programs.

Quentin Tarantino thinks his race ought to be irrelevant to how his films are judged. When it hits this holiday season, a few theaters will show it in 70mm projection, but those that dont will see a slightly different, not to mention shorter, version of the film.
Both versions will feature classic overture and intermission periods so you can stretch your legs and buy ice-cream, lasting around 12 minutes. But what I also didn’t know is how excited everyone was going to be about 70.
Tarantino described the sequence that gets the added six minutes as being “big, long, cool, unblinking takes”, in the 70mm version. Rather, he liked the idea of the roadshow experience having a little something extra. So I cut it up a little bit.
“The Hateful Eight” is one of the most eagerly awaited movies left to hit cinemas in 2015.
Watch the trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film “The Hateful Eight”, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell. “You must have an opinion of me. It’s a little less precious about itself”, said Tarantino. The director approached the two different versions as two different experiences. I think everybody is looking to see how we do in that first two weeks.
“If people don’t like my movies, they don’t like my movies, and if they don’t get it, it doesn’t matter”, Tarantino said. In a lot of the more ugly pieces, my motives were really brought to bear in the most negative way. [When he saw this test, ] he started bouncing in his seat.
