Quinnipiac Poll Shows Donald Trump, Ted Cruz Tied in Iowa
Donald Trump continued to raise doubts Sunday about rival Ted Cruz’s eligibility for the presidency, saying Republicans will risk losing a lawsuit-and potentially the nation’s highest office-if they nominate Cruz as their candidate. While it’s true that Cruz was born in Canada, his mother was an American citizen at the time, and the generally accepted legal view is that if you’re born to an American – even on foreign soil – you’re considered a natural born citizen. Trump said Democrats would sue Cruz if he becomes the Republican candidate for the White House.

Trump, the main “birther” questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, has flip-flopped in Cruz’s eligibility.
Cruz has said he has no interest in getting into a war of words with Trump.
The businessman insisted he was only responding to questions in the media, and not needling Mr. Cruz under the guise of wanting to help him down the road.
Savage said he believes Trump will also do well among Hispanics, because of a “macho culture” that prefers male leadership.
“I like Rubio. My only concern is he doesn’t have years and years of experience”, one participant said. Some of his competitors have side with Trump that it is a liability, while others, including former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have said there’s no question Cruz is eligible.
Trump again called on Cruz to get a court judgment about his ballot status – advice Cruz has rejected – before suggesting the issue would cost Cruz the nomination.
Trump in November pledged to authorize a “deportation force” to “humanely” remove millions of undocumented immigrants from the U.S.
“Ted Cruz has a problem”, Trump said Monday morning in New Hampshire, the state that will vote for a Republican nominee a week after Iowa. “That’s not how we enforce the law for any crime”, Cruz told Tapper as his campaign bus ambled across northern Iowa. The distinction between the president and Cruz is simple: “The president was born within the United States, and the senator was born outside of it. That is a distinction with a difference”.
Trump leads the GOP field with 31 percent in Quinnipiac University’s new poll, followed closely by Cruz’s 29 percent.
“The substance of the issue is clear and straightforward”, Cruz said.
“I think he’s trying to help him out by saying, ‘Hey, prove it, ‘” said Harris after the rally.

“I really feel that if I don’t win I can’t make the difference”, Mr. Trump told NBC’s Meet the Press. “I like Donald Trump, I respect Donald Trump, he’s welcome to toss whatever attacks he wants”. In Iowa, the poll found Cruz with a similar 4-point lead, 28-24, over Trump. Trump drew the analogy during a campaign speech to more than 3,000 people in downtown Reno on Sunday while casino sportsbooks were jammed with fans across the street watching the National Football League playoffs.
