Race Remains Tight Between Trump, Clinton

“And I’m back on the campaign trail”.

She is scheduled to return to the campaign trail on Thursday. “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the U.S.”.

Clinton’s near fainting spell this past Sunday pushed the health of the candidates to the forefront – prompting Trump to show Dr. Oz the results from his most recent physical exam.

The Democratic presidential nominee smiled and waved as she climbed the steps of her campaign plane in White Plains, New York.

Until Thursday, the only information on Trump’s health had come in a widely ridiculed letter from his doctor declaring he would be the healthiest person to ever serve as president.

The 68-year-old former Secretary of State said she felt “lucky” to be able to take time off to recuperate at home in Chappaqua, New York, when so many working Americans would not be able to afford such a break.

Trump is also concerned with the economic health of the nation, delivering a speech today explaining how he plans to create 25 million new jobs over the next decade through economic growth and proposed federal budget savings.

This was always the danger in making the Clinton campaign primarily about demonizing Trump in a change election in which she is undeniably the establishment candidate. Few businesses now pay the full 35 percent rate, taking advantage instead of many deductions in the existing tax code.

Ignoring a young male heckler, who shouted “you suck” to calmly set out the differences between her and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, she said, “I confess I will never be the showman that Trump is”. Dr. Lisa Bardack, chair of internal medicine at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, New York, said Clinton was treated with a 10-day course of Levaquin, an antibiotic used to treat infections. She had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound and shows no signs of developing heart disease, which runs in her family.

The letter from Clinton’s doctor made no mention of her weight, a key part of any medical exam, nor did a similar letter released a year ago.

Outside of a critical diagnosis that would make it impossible to serve a four-year term, one unfortunate trend of the latest campaign cycle has been near constant hypothesizing about the candidates’ health ― from conspiracy theories about Hillary’s neurological system to unfounded mental health diagnoses of Trump.

Trump’s letter said the Republican is 6-foot-3 and 236 pounds – giving him a body mass index falling into the “overweight” range.

Still unanswered after Thursday’s press conference was whether Kaine, Clinton’s running mate of about two months, was let in on the diagnosis.

And Trump Jr. caused a firestorm when, during a Thursday interview with a Philadelphia radio station, he raised the specter of the Holocaust by saying if Republicans acted like Hillary Clinton, the media would be “warming up the gas chamber”.

Following the revelation of Clinton’s pneumonia, Trump vowed soon to release specific numbers from a recent check-up with Bornstein.
