Rachel Platten Shares A ‘Fight Song’ Duet With A 7-Year-Old Cancer Patient

Jeremiah Succar, a 7-year-old cancer patient at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, only needed to listen to Rachel Platten’s hit, “Fight Song”, a few times before he committed the inspirational lyrics to memory.

The heartwarming duet performance has nearly 90,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded Tuesday.

Succar, who suffers from stage 4 atypical rhabdoid teratoid, “an aggressive, fast-growing tumor that occurs in the brain and spinal cord”, is a patient at the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases in Los Angeles, according to the hospital’s blog.

“They do music therapy in the hospital, and his music therapist introduced the song to him”, Frontela said.

Jeremiah then surprised Platten in return by singing along with her.

A couple weeks ago Platten joined Succar at the hospital after finding out about his fandom and sang a duet of the song. He just finished his second round of chemotherapy.

Fight on Jeremiah… fight on.

Platten become aware of the deep meaning of the song to Succar after a social media campaign #RachelMeetJeremiah was launched. “She was really humble and sweet”.

At the end of the meeting, Jeremiah got a belly laugh out of Platten when he asked, “Can I have your autograph?”

The musician seemed to greatly enjoy the get together, too, as she laughed and smiled throughout their touching rendition.
