Radio presenter Joe Kohlhofer kicked off his 8am show on Friday by barricading his co-host from the studio and locking himself in with the microphone.

Radio station bosses claim his stunt was not sanctioned, and that the DJ blocked the entrance to the studio so that no one else could get in during the show.

Kohlhofer fielded dozens of calls from listeners asking him to stop, according to a video posted to the Antennae Carinthia YouTube channel.

However the station website has featured Kohlhofer’s antics which have garnered them worldwide attention.

The unplanned stunt is thought to be the longest ever broadcast of Last Christmas after it was played 24 times in the two hours available. “The song has become a running gag”.
