RadioShack hires Nickelodeon alum Nick Cannon as CCO
Michael Tatelman, the CMO of RadioShack, adds in the press release that Cannon is the “picture of a RadioShack success story”.

“Yes, it is 100 percent legit, and it’s more than him lending his name – he really is going to be involved, he really is going to be the CCO, he’ll have an office in Fort Worth (RadioShack’s HQ)”, said RadioShack representative Alessandra Carriero.
Rapper, actor, comedian and entertainer Nick Cannon, host of MTV2’s “Wild ‘N Out”, has been named the chief creative officer of RadioShack.
According to RadioShack, Cannon will not just be a figure head. The move will give the performer a broad range of duties with the chain, from picking in-store soundtracks to developing new products, to expanding STEM educational initiatives.
As chief creative officer, Cannon will develop new products to inspire and educate the next generation, the chain says. “As a kid, spending time in my neighborhood RadioShack was invaluable”.
Cannon said his relationship with RadioShack began as an 8-year-old, shortly after inheriting his grandfather’s stereo equipment.
Amid its flagging decline into failed obscurity, long-running tech retailer RadioShack has a plan to help revive its ailing woes: hire some celebrity muscle to help boost it back to the top.

In July 2015, General Wireless Operations Inc., announced that it had closed a $26.2 million purchase of the RadioShack brand, giving the company the ability to operate the retailer under the RadioShack brand name. Here’s to hoping “Me Sexy” will soundtrack the next RadioShack commercial.
